2016 Round-up, and a looking forward to a busy 2017
I’m excited about 2017 and I hope you are too! The possibilities are endless personally and photographically, we just have to look for them and take advantage of what we could be.
A Round-Up of 2016
In 2016, my wife and I took our first trip to Alaska. It was something we had always wanted to do, and I’ll tell you that I would definitely go back. It was the most breathtaking scenery I have ever seen. I took 1600 photographs and have been posting the best on social media in the last few weeks. I’ll continue posting for a while. You can find these on:
I love to read and the influences from some books have opened my eyes to a world of photography past the “hope I get something good” mentality I once had. are, we all take the snapshots of something we see cool or beautiful, but Ive learned that photography is (for me) way deeper than just a quick picture that will viewed a couple times then forgotten.
My web site has changed several times. Its taken time to tweak it into something that looks like what I wanted. Theres more to come.
What’s coming in 2017
Working in Film
I’ve been prepping to work more in film, and have a couple projects that I want to explore in 35mm and 4×5 sheet film. More on that as it happens.
January 5, 2017 marks my first class of 2017, with others planned for each quarter of 2017, presented in the east Texas area.
I’m headed to Canada in February with hopes of plenty snow for some amazing shots. Also, giving thoughts to a trip to New Mexico and the Oregon coast.
I’ll be offering select prints from the Alaskan Series as signed editions. Also, I will be embellishing select canvases . It will be interesting to see how they change with the added texture making each one an individual.
With lots of things happening in 2017, my goal is to be a better photographer than 2016, and helping others do the same. Moving forward!0
