Where We Want To Be: Visions of a Better Place
Technically the picture was good, but it wasn’t that exciting. Nothing big was happening, or leading me to believe something was going to happen. There was no person recognizable, or that could be called beautiful. There was nothing historically or socially ground breaking in the scene. Just a man walking under this canopy of trees. I figured out why I liked it. It’s where I wanted to be, which was anywhere but where I was at that moment. This picture spoke to me because it took me to a place, even for a moment, that was stress free. I could feel the calmness and the cool air of the park, and imagined that maybe I might need a light jacket as I was walking- if I was that man walking, thinking, calm, quiet.
